How do i improve my colored pencil drawing?
I'm doing art for GCSE, and i love it. But at the minute we're using different mediums and i'm using colored pencils. How do i get the best effect? I want to do a softer colors and tone and lines, any tips? I'd love your advice, thank you I mean get a softer effect with tones and colours and lines and so on
For how much should i sell my colored pencil drawing for?
I am 13 years old and I recently did a colored pencil drawing in prismacolor for a state art competition. My principal said he would by it if i set a price, but i don't know haw much to sell it for. It is very nice, it looks like you can feel the fur it's a cat , even all my teachers said so, and my art teacher said that i didi better than he could have done, but i don't know what my price should be.p.s. my art teacher said to start around 275, but i don't know......i won't be able to show it since the competition is on saturday 5 3 08 but just take my word for it 0

I want to make some type of a drawing using only colored pencils. i want it to be kind of unique and not just a plain picture of something. i'm pretty good at art, i just have trouble thinking of ideas. haha does anyone have any suggestions?

How do I keep my chalk pastels from smearing from the background onto a colored pencil drawing.?
I am doing a mix media drawing on Artist Loft Fundamentals sketch paper. I drew the main picture with a mix of Prisma and Crayola colored pencils since I didn't have all the shades I needed in one set . Now, to get the look I want, I am going to use chalk pastels to do the background. I'm afraid that the chalk will smear onto the drawing and I really don't want to mess it up because I'm giving it to someone as a gift. I heard hairspray is a great substitute for setting it, but I need something that will keep it from smearing onto the colored pencil drawing. Is there maybe a coat kind of like wax resistant that I can put over the picture, so I can easily remove the chalk? Or any other ideas? Also, does air sole hairspray really work? If so is there a brand that works best?What I'm pretty much asking is Once I start to get close to the pencil drawing, how do I keep the chalk from smearing and ruining the pencil drawing? I know setting it will help it from moving once I'm done but how to I prevent from it moving onto my picture in the first place? I guess I could just do everything around it but once I get closer I just have to be really careful and precise... But do you have any other better methods?
Ultra-fine sharpie on a colored pencil drawing..?
I'm doing a design which involves drawing it with a sharpie on an already colored in drawing, done with colored pencils. I did almost half of it, but my sharpies keep dying out. or at least pretending to die out when I'm using them.Does anyone know what would work best so that I could finish the picture? I have one old sharpie worked for most of the picture and a new sharpie died out seconds after I started doing the design . Any tricks like idk, putting the sharpie in something cold hot so that keeps working? anything at all?? anyone???thx for anyone's help..I'm gonna get going with this pic. or at least try.
Which art genre would a colored pencil drawing be placed under?
would it just be " colored pencil drawing" or would it be under naturalistic, abstracted, etc?this might help a bit i'm drawing a snake coming out of a rug. like in Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card.
